God's Word is "living and active." As Paul says in Philippians, it is the "Word of Life." As you take time to read and study the Bible, the book will come alive to you. What is God speaking to your heart through our study of the book of Philippians? We would love to hear from you. Each week I will be highlighting a couple of the comments on Sunday morning.
This past Sunday we talked about the meaning of salvation. What does the following statement mean to you: Salvation is a free gift and a cost-everything commitment!
Please post your comments below or any other insights God has shown you as we have been studying Philippians.
In Philippians 3:10 the Apostle Paul makes known his desire to know Christ and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His suffering.
ReplyDeleteI believe that if we will embrace suffering rather than murmuring and complaining, we will experience the power of His resurrection here on earth. Jesus, for the joy set before Him, endured the cross( Hebrews 12:2 ) .We must take up the cross daily ( Mark 10:21 ) and say, " yes, LORD " if we want to do the greater works that Jesus spoke of in John 14:12. Will you willingly suffer to be a part of the greatest harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God? The time has come for The Son of Man to be glorified and exalted. (John 12:23 )

It seems that we all go through periods of testing from time to time and lately I have felt what seems to me to be a bombardment of what I will call abrasive situations where certain individuals think that the rules that have been put forth for the protection and welfare for everyone doesn't apply to them, that somehow the world revolves around them and that those around them should just deal with them. Mostly we just want these individuals to go away or just be miraculously differnet. Our world has been infringed upon and we/I don't like it. So, it doesn't surprise me that Phil 2:3 has jumped out at me lately..."Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves." So instead of trying to be a non-caped crusader and try to point out the error of their ways to them, I have found myself praying over the situations and the Holy Spirit has lovingly reminded me that Christ died for these people as well. This reminder has changed how I approach them and in all humility has done what no amount of lecturing/disciplining would have done. Thank you, Lord, for once again showing me the way where there seemed to be no way.
