Holy Spirit Invasion

The Covered Dish Dinner and Business Meeting this past Sunday was well attended. Great food of all kinds was had by all! Thank you everyone who helped to make a great dinner.

At the Business meeting we took some time to look back over the past year and remember the many wonderful works that God performed in our lives and in the church corporately. Even though we are facing a large bill to install new A/C units, we celebrated the fact that we are debt free and have been for many years. As an aside, we collected $4783 in our first offering for the A/C units, we are well on our way to the $22,000 that we need.

It is important to look back and celebrate what God has done in the past.

This past year we kicked off two new ministries, both being overseen by Jeremy Payne:
Soul Care
Soul Care is a ministry to bring healing and hope to wounded and broken people.
Men of the Kingdom
This is a small group to help men deal with life's difficulties.

Later this year we are looking towards starting ...
discipleship classes and classes to teach basic Christian doctrine
a one-on-one inner healing type ministry

Last year we had a large Easter Service on the beach where we saw 400-500 people from many different churches in attendance. We are currently putting together plans for this year's service on the beach and here at the church.

We have a number of ongoing ministries that we can celebrate as well:
House Churches
Ladies Life Group
Women's Bible Study
Youth Group
Young Adults Ministry
Children's Ministry
Sunday Morning Bible Class
Men of  Honor
Food Pantry
Prayer ministry (Tue, Thur, Sun, at 7am, 2nd/4th Thur at 7pm)

We support a number of local ministries and Missionaries:
Soul Care Ministries
        Mike Black Ministries
Special Gathering
Pregnancy Resources
Love INC
Fishers of Mens Ministry
Stuart Greaves

One of our greatest accomplishments is our ministry in Guatemala. Casaverde Ministries is located in Peronia, Guatemala, a very poor and high-crime area on the outskirts of Guatemala City. Casaverde means “greenhouse” in Spanish. We see Casaverde (CV) as a place where children and youth can be cared for and nurtured in the Lord. At present we own four properties in Peronia. As a church we support a full-time missionary and a Guatemalan staff that serves the various children’s programs we offer. We have touched many children and their families with the Gospel.

It is exciting to see what the Lord is doing here at “the Rock” ...
several youth were Holy Spirit baptized at a recent
              prayer retreat
we are hearing increased testimonies of healings
there is an increase in God's anointing and presence
              in our services

It is so important to look at what God has done and not what God has not done.To focus on what God has not done only produces unbelief in our hearts. When Jesus took the small lunch of a young boy and fed 5000 people, he removed the lunch from the natural kingdom where it could only feed one small boy, into the Kingdom of God, where its potential was unlimited.

Sunday night we did some Rapid Fire Testimonies- 30sec to 1 min testimonies of the God's goodness in the past year. It was exciting to hear the many ways that God moved in people’s lives. We serve a good God!

One of the earmarks of the evening was when God supernaturally moved upon Mark Howell to give testimony to God’s heart for Church on the Rock. Mark shared that we as a church were on the verge of a move of God’s Holy Spirit. This is exciting in light of the increased activity of the Holy Spirit that we are seeing in our services. I believe it is important that we pray into this word, and ask God how we can prepare for this move, and how we should respond when it comes.
