Angelic Visitations!

This past Sunday we looked at the story about Cornelius in Acts 10.
Cornelius was a Roman Centurion, but he had a reverence and a fear of God. As he prayed he had an angelic visitation. The angel told Cornelius that his prayers and his generous giving had come up before
God as a memorial. God took notice of Cornelius' prayers. God also took notice of Zacharias' prayers and sent an angel to him to tell him that his prayers had been heard and that God was going to answer them.

As I shared my own experience this Sunday with an "angelic visitation," two thoughts came to me concerning the year 2012. My first thought: God wants to encounter us in 2012 and may come in
ways different than we expect.

My second thought: Will we recognize God in those situations and
receive them as from God?

We serve an awesome God and He has great purpose for our lives in this new year. May the Lord open our hearts and minds fully to Him and man we not miss those moments when He draws close to us or communicates with us in some way.

As we were praying this morning at church, I was reminded of the following scripture
Romans 8:37-39

But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who
loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor
angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come,
nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing,
will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ
Jesus our Lord.

Together we are going to take hold of all that God has for us in this new year. Together we will celebrate the victories that we have in Christ Jesus. Be alert and look for God to reveal Himself in many varied and wonderful ways in this new year.

May God richly bless you and your family!
