Alignment

This past Sunday Ken Malone, from Forerunner Ministries, spoke a
challenging and encouraging word to us as a church. Ken made this
statement, "There is something that happens when civil government and
God's government come into alignment."

There is no doubt that the church is to be a place of God's love, a
refuge for His people, and a place to be nourished and grow in our
walk with God. However, we are not just called to be sheep, we are also
called to be warriors in God's Kingdom. The church, the ecclesia, is a
legislative body that should exercise authority and influence in every
level of our culture. The church should affect civil government,
education, arts and media, entertainment, every area of life. God is
trying to align us with His purposes so we can be who He created us to
be. As Ken said on Sunday, each of us is on assignment and we have
been sent to Melbourne/Palm Bay to turn the world upside down (or more accurately, up right again).

Acts 13:22 (NASB)

“After He had removed him, He raised up David to be their king,
concerning whom He also testified and said, ‘I HAVE FOUND DAVID the
son of Jesse, A MAN AFTER MY HEART, who will do all My will.’

God was looking for a man to do His will in the earth. David was such
a man. He was a true worshipper of God, but also a warrior. God is
looking for men and women to fulfill His will in our generation as well.

Acts 13:36 (NASB)

“For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own
generation, fell asleep, and was laid among his fathers and underwent
decay;

The testimony concerning David after his death was that he had "served
the purpose of God in his own generation." God is again looking for
men and women to do His will in the earth today. He is looking for
people with a Kingdom perspective who understand that they are on a
godly assignment to further the Kingdom of God on earth, as it is in
heaven.

Will you be that man or woman?

Do we understand that as a Christian, God has given us an assignment?

Have you asked God what your assignment is and how you can fulfill it?
