In the Bible it says that false prophets and false teachers will arise in the church and that many will follow them into deception.
I do not want to be among those who “malign” the way of the truth. In 2 Peter, Peter gives us a strong warning. He reminds us that God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell. He destroyed the ancient world by a flood because of their wickedness, and He destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by reducing them to ashes.
God will judge the sin of men and of angels. However, in the middle of God’s judgment, He preserved Noah and his family from the flood that destroyed the world. He rescued righteous Lot from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.
As Peter goes on to say, “the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptations” (2 Pet 2:9). Hallelujah! We see incredible darkness and deception in our world today, but God can and will preserve the hearts of those who follow hard after Him.
Today, we see many strange doctrines and philosophies pushing there way into the church. However, God is more than able to preserve and rescue His own people. As the Apostle John said concerning Jesus Christ, “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men” (John 1:9).
Pray that God’s “light of life” would shine brightly upon human hearts and that He would “rescue the godly from temptation.” Pray that God would release wells of water in human hearts that would “spring up to eternal life” (John 4:14).
