It is easy in this current season to be fearful and intimidated by any number of situations that we see going on in the world around us. Perhaps you are facing some serious challenges in your own life. I believe Jesus is saying, "Come!"
As we move into the summer months, I do not believe this is a time to drawback out of fear nor to embrace the summer months as the “lazy, crazy days of summer.” Early on in 2010 God gave me several prophetic insights for our Church. As we are now almost half way through this year, it is good to look back and remind ourselves of God's Word so we can walk in faith and embrace all that God has for us as a church and as individuals.
This year is a season of:
1. Opportunity
The year 2010 will be a year with many challenges, but each challenge will bring opportunities with it. Opportunities are conditions favorable for our advancement and success.
2. Preparation
This is a season to make ourselves ready for the days ahead-
study God’s word, pray, fast (live a sermon on the mount lifestyle)
financially- get out of debt, live on less (simplify your lifestyle)
training- classes, certifications, first aid, gardening, improve yourself in some way
lay up provision for yourself and others (not for the purpose of hoarding but blessing)
3. Peace
Is your relationship with God secure? Are you at peace WITH God and do you know the peace OF God. Now is the time to learn to walk in an inner peace. Move beyond constant striving for your own personal salvation and begin to live and die for others (become Kingdom builders).
4. Confidence
God’s provision may not seem sufficient in the moment, but as we obey Him and hold onto Kingdom truths He will always be there for us. Learn to put your trust in God in every area of your life.
As we were praying at early morning prayer today, I felt God was saying that this was a “get out of the boat” season of time. In Matthew chapter 14, the disciples were together in a boat on the Sea of Galilee. They found themselves in the middle of a great storm, “battered by the waves; for the wind was contrary.” As Jesus approached the boat walking on water, ONE disciple out of 12 cried out to Jesus and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” I believe this is a season to cry out to God and ask Him to “command” us to “step out of the boat” so that we move into God's purposes for our lives and for the church in this season in which we live.
Jesus, command us to come to you! Now is the time, this is the season.
Are you ready to ask God to command you to step out of your boat into His Kingdom purposes for your life?
Ask God for wisdom to look through your current challenges and see the divine opportunities that God is calling you to step into.
