The Spirit of God is moving in the earth today. This should prove to be an exciting and challenging year. God is also moving at COTRM.
I am encouraged by what I see God doing in the heart's and lives of people in our church. Some people are experiencing some very difficult circumstances, yet as they lean into God they are finding the strength to press-on. In 1 Cor 14:6, Paul makes an interesting statement. In the context of talking about the gift of tongues, he talks about speaking to the church, "by way of revelation or of knowledge or of prophesy or of teaching." When I read that verse recently, that became one of my prayers. God, speak to the people of COTRM, "by way of revelation or of knowledge or of prophesy or of teaching." If there was ever a time when we need to hear the voice of God, this is the time.
As I challenged us this past Sunday it is important that we be reading the Word of God. I believe as we read God's Word with an open and sincere heart that God is going to speak to us by way of revelation and knowledge and prophecy and teaching. Again, let me encourage you to take the challenge and commit to reading at least five chapters of the Bible each week. Of course there is value in reading both the Old and the New Testaments, but if you read five chapters of the New Testament a week, you will complete the entire New Testament in one year. The more we prayerfully read God's Word, the more excitement we will find in our walk with God.

Thank you so much for the challenge that you have put before us. Sunday, there was such a sweet presence of the Holy Spirit that continued, for me, all through out the day. My personal perspective, having lived outside of the USA for so many years, is that many Americans have lost the willingness to set a high standard for themselves and go for it. Someone once said that the saddest place on the planet is the cemetary because it is filled with all of the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the achievements that were never aimed for. Thanks again for the challenge.
