What is Truth?

This past Sunday Pastor Tony continued with our series "What is Truth?" There has been a significant change over the last decade in how people view truth. How they view truth affects their understanding of God and the world in which they live. Even Christian's have been affected by this change.

Satan's goal today is to silence the church, to take away our voice in the culture in which we live. This is done largely through intimidation and lies. It is popular today to talk about the separation of church and state. What is really being said is that the church has no role in the public arena of ideas and policies. This has spilled over into the church. Many Christians try to separate the secular from the sacred in their lives.

John 1.17 says that "grace and truth are realized in Jesus Christ." Jesus, speaking about Himself in John 14.6 said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life." In John 17.17 the Bible says, "Your Word is truth." All wisdom, and knowledge, and truth are found in Jesus Christ. As Pastor Tony said on Sunday, "Satan must separate us from truth to deceive us."

It is so very important that we allow God's Word, the Bible, to shape the way we think and understand everything from philosophy to ethics, from psychology to science, and from economics to politics. Truth is truth and it applies in all disciplines of life, and Jesus Christ and His Word are the source of all truth.

As Pastor Tony challenged us Sunday: DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED!
