At the conference this past weekend, Kent Henry said, "The church in America lacks a sense of urgency." What does that mean for the churches in Brevard County, what does that mean for COTRM?
Kent Henry is one of many voices that is calling God's church to "understand the times" in which we live. This is a serious hour, and as Kent said, our country is in a serious moral and spiritual crisis.
"From where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep" (Psa 121:1-4).
Ultimately our help comes from God, but I believe He has called us to be His vessels to bring His Kingdom to the lives of men and women in our community. That is only going to happen as we learn the importance of corporately crying out to God in prayer and worship. Kent definitely challenged us as a church to take our commitment to prayer and worship to a whole new level. He also challenged the younger generations to step into their calling and gifting and the older generations to be help mentor and release them. All hands on deck if we are going to fulfill God's call for us as individuals and as a church.
What did God speak to you this past weekend? As you ponder on all that Kent shared with us as a church, what most challenged your heart?
God spoke to me rescue, recovery, and restoration. For Spiritual Awakening to take place in our communities, marketplace, and families, it first must take place in our hearts. There are many broken, wounded, and hurting souls in the church and Jesus wants us to touch the hem of His garment. Healing leads to health, vitality, and a desire to help the next person receive the same. I also received a personal challenge from the Lord to pray more and spend more time in intercessory prayer.
